about
This song was written straight off the back of reading a book named The Celestine Prophecy, which gave inspiration and esoteric belief in a world where Earthly nature is losing the battle against humans, as we begin to experience the dramatic and problematic natural and non-natural disasters that are occurring around the planet at an increasing rate. I wrote this song with a divine balance between nature and humankind in mind, and with plentiful hope that we can rise above tyranny and come together as one people so that we and our planetary home can prosper and flourish. This song is the least I could do to try and share a vital and daunting message of urgency and unity in this Day & Age.
The video is set in Govanhill Baths, a derelict and historical public pool in the Southside of Glasgow that was open for a flower exhibition, and I was very kindly given permission to film there when the doors came to a close. The pool is very local to me, and is set for refurbishment and re-opening after an 18 year spell. The setting happened to be the perfect environment for the dystopian concept of the song, which could very well be a harsh future reality for us if we don’t heed the call. There’s always hope.

A thousand years have come,
A thousand have gone,
Ain’t no sign of slowing down or keeping up.
This message is made clear,
Seen through natural disaster
Ain’t no sense of turning back or forward.
This day and age matters to you and I,
To hold on to what is real and what is right,
All in good time, all in good time I know,
That we are the people to let it all go.
How fast the waters rise,
How hard the wind blows,
It’s evident were losing control,
Letting go of what you fear
Is the way to remembering,
Where we’ve come from and where we’re going.
This day and age matters to you and I,
To hold on to what is real and what is right,
All in good time, all in good time I know,
That we are the generation to let it all go.
