Follow Your Bliss’ is the most emotive and uplifting song I’ve written thus far. Having had it by my side these past few years, it has grown ever-close to my emotional fabric and leaves my heart wide-open in sharing it for all to hear, and feel. It was written as some guidance to myself in times of need, as I realise we all need to listen to our own advice from time to time. The song itself and its message is much bigger than I, and so I put it out and into the world hoping that it’ll bring true moments of guidance and clarity to you, offering a new perspective through the dark times and the light, and that you also feel it's comforting embrace, from my heart to yours.
The staple of this song is inspired directly by John Marty’s ‘May You Never’, which is also derivative of the old Irish blessing that goes, ‘May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be at your back.
This instrumental ft Mango Lassie's backing vocals is there alongside the lyrics for you to truly feel and sing the song from your own heart.
lyrics
V
In the journey of a lifetime,
There’ll be many twists and turns,
You’ll be faced with countless hurdles,
As you take your leaps and bounds
But remember all the people,
You discover as you go,
Keep them close to your heart,
And upon theirs you can console
There’ll be times that you may falter,
And the days don’t seem so bright,
You must find your own direction,
And go forth with all your might
I for one am still learning,
How to fly with a broken wing,
And the best gift I can offer,
Are these words to which I sing
C
May the road rise to meet you,
And the wind be at your back,
May the moonlight gaze upon you,
And the rain fall gently down
Forward, oh forward,
We all must travel on,
Keep our chins up and our heads high,
Before our moments been and gone
V
In the words that tell your story,
There’ll be lines that wilt and wind,
But engrained in fondest memories,
Lay the answers to define
Looking onwards and upwards,
You’ll soon find the light of day,
And if you give your time to others,
All good things will come your way
If you find your one true lover,
Who holds her sleeves for all your tears,
Let it be known how deeply you love her,
And let go of all your fears
I for one am still learning,
How to fly with a broken wing,
And the best gift I can offer,
Are these words to which I sing
